Nvidia Discloses $21B SpaceX Stake, $30B Intel Holdings

An SEC filing revealed Nvidia owns a $21 billion stake in SpaceX and $30 billion in Intel shares, turning a $5 billion Intel bet into a massive windfall.

Nvidia disclosed a nearly $21 billion stake in Elon Musk SpaceX and $30 billion in Intel shares in a regulatory filing made Friday, revealing the full scope of the AI chipmaker investment portfolio. The 13F filing showed Nvidia held 122.8 million Class A shares in SpaceX as of June 30, marking the first time the company has given a public value to its position in the space and AI infrastructure giant.

The SpaceX stake originated from Nvidia $10 billion investment in Musk artificial intelligence startup xAI in January. When xAI merged with SpaceX ahead of the company record-setting IPO in June, Nvidia shares converted into the combined entity. SpaceX priced its IPO at $135 per share on June 12 and has since traded at $140, down from $170.86 at the end of June.

Intel Bet Pays Off Big

The Intel position is equally striking. Nvidia purchased 214.8 million Intel shares for $5 billion in a private placement completed in December 2025, as part of a strategic AI infrastructure partnership announced the previous September. That stake was worth roughly $9.5 billion just three months ago. By the end of the second quarter, it had surged to approximately $30 billion, representing a six-fold return on the original investment.

The filing also showed Nvidia owns stakes worth more than $10 billion across various customers, partners, and suppliers, including Coherent, Generate Biomedicines, Nebius Group, Nokia, and Synopsys. However, Nvidia completely exited its position in Arm stock during the quarter.

Google Also Discloses Massive SpaceX Holdings

Nvidia is not the only tech giant with significant SpaceX exposure. Google reported holding SpaceX shares worth $94.1 billion, making it one of the largest institutional investors in the company. SpaceX went public on June 12 in the largest IPO in history, selling 555.6 million Class A shares and raising roughly $75 billion. The company now has a public float valued in the hundreds of billions.

Musk announced during SpaceX first earnings call earlier this month that the company will build all future AI services exclusively on Nvidia hardware, calling the Nvidia Vera Rubin architecture the best available. Nvidia stock rose more than 4 percent on the announcement. SpaceX expects to end the year with more than 2 gigawatts of computing capacity and plans to have close to 10 gigawatts by the end of next year, including launching Nvidia server racks into orbit as part of its Starmind satellite program.
