Ukraine’s Security Service said it carried out a coordinated strike on an aircraft plant in occupied Crimea’s Yevpatoriia and on infrastructure at Taman Port in Russia’s Krasnodar region, as Kyiv’s long-range campaign against Russian military and logistics targets continues.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), in cooperation with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said it had conducted “another series of successful strikes against Russia’s military, logistical, and oil refining infrastructure.”
In the temporarily occupied city of Yevpatoriia, two hangars used to store aircraft and a production workshop at the Yevpatoriia Aircraft Plant were struck, the SSU said. Infrastructure at Taman Port was also hit, with a large-scale fire reported at the facility, which serves as a key transshipment point on the Kerch Strait.
The operation also targeted the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka oil refinery, one of the largest refining enterprises in Russia with a capacity of approximately 15 million metric tons of crude oil per year. The plant produces gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, making it a strategic asset for the Russian military’s fuel supply.
“Every Russian military-industrial complex facility that has been struck, every burning refinery or port, is another step toward the collapse of Russia’s war machine,” the SSU said. “These systematic operations by the SSU to undermine the enemy’s military potential will continue.”
The strikes are part of an intensifying Ukrainian campaign to degrade Russia’s war economy and its ability to sustain operations. Recent reporting has estimated that Ukrainian drone strikes have disabled more than 30 percent of Russia’s oil refinery capacity by targeting hard-to-replace processing units, and the attacks have also hit logistics hubs, warehouses, and military production facilities across western Russia and occupied Crimea.
In recent weeks, Ukrainian drones have repeatedly struck Russian e-commerce and logistics infrastructure, including Wildberries warehouses in several regions, killing workers and destroying merchant inventory, according to Ukrainian reports. The strikes on Crimea, including the Yevpatoriia aircraft plant, also fit a broader effort to isolate the peninsula and complicate Russian military logistics there.
Ukrainian officials say the deep-strike operations are designed to complement frontline resistance by raising the cost of the war for Moscow. Analysts have noted that Ukraine has shifted toward asymmetric strikes on high-value targets deep inside Russia as it seeks to offset Russian advantages in manpower and firepower.
