The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 189 combat clashes nationwide in the past 24 hours, with the heaviest fighting concentrated along the Pokrovsk axis where Russian forces launched 26 separate assaults, the General Staff reported Wednesday.
In its daily operational update as of 10 p.m. Wednesday, the General Staff said Russian forces carried out 70 airstrikes, dropping 224 guided aerial bombs (KABs), and launched 6,564 kamikaze drones alongside 2,260 shelling attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian troop positions across the front line.
Pokrovsk Sector Under Heaviest Pressure
The Pokrovsk axis saw the most intense combat of the day, with Russian troops attempting to advance near the settlements of Vilne, Kucheriv Yar, Hannivka, Matiasheve, Svitle, Bilytske, Shevchenko, Vasylivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Muravka, and Molodetske. Preliminary data showed 33 Russian troops killed and 15 wounded in that sector alone, according to the General Staff.
Ukrainian defenders destroyed two artillery systems, four vehicles, one piece of special equipment, two drone control points, and 27 enemy shelters in the Pokrovsk sector, while damaging three additional vehicles, one drone control point, and 90 Russian shelters. Some 352 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types were destroyed or suppressed in the area.
Multi-Axis Engagements Continue
On the Kostiantynivka axis, the AFU repelled 21 Russian assaults near Ivanopillia, Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, and Novoselivka. The Lyman axis saw 10 attempted Russian advances near Shyikivka, Karpivka, Novoselivka, Zarichne, Drobysheve, and Lyman, with one engagement still ongoing at the time of the report.
Along the Sloviansk axis, Ukrainian forces stopped 14 Russian advances near Kryva Luka, Zakitne, and Mykolaivka. Two Russian assaults were recorded on the Kramatorsk axis near Dibrova and Vasiutynske, while no assault operations were reported on the Kupiansk axis.
On the Pivnichno-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk axes, the AFU repelled two Russian attacks, while Russian forces carried out one airstrike using two KABs and conducted 53 shelling attacks on troop positions and settlements.
Underneath the daily tactical fighting, Ukrainian forces continue to hold positions across a broad front stretching from the northern Kharkiv region through the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. The General Staff did not report any territorial changes on either side in its update.
