XRP Ledger Rolls Out fixCleanup3_3_0 on September 11

The XRP Ledger will activate fixCleanup3_3_0 on September 11 with 82.86% validator support, bundling 11 fixes across vaults, lending and AMM pools.

The XRP Ledger will activate its fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment on September 11, pending final validator confirmation, with on-chain data showing 29 of 35 validators, or 82.86%, backing the change, well above the 80% threshold required for adoption. Voting on the amendment opened on August 6, and the network requires support above 80% for 14 consecutive days before the change applies automatically to all following ledger versions. As of September 9, 93 amendments are active on mainnet and 11 remain pending.

What the package contains

fixCleanup3_3_0 bundles 11 distinct corrections spanning several components introduced across recent XRPL releases: Single Asset Vaults, the Lending Protocol, Automated Market Makers, the permissioned DEX, Checks and pseudo-accounts. Many of the patched features are not yet live on mainnet, so the cleanup lands before those systems carry real user funds at scale.

One part of the bundle touches a feature that is already live: the ledger’s native Automated Market Maker. The fix adds a check for rounding losses on deposits, withdrawals and clawback operations when the older fixAMMv1_3 amendment is also active. Rounding losses occur when calculations with a limited number of decimal places cut off digits on small or unevenly distributed amounts. Individually the sums are tiny, but in unfavorable combinations they can be exploited deliberately by traders who structure positions around the imprecision.

The correction also means some AMM transactions that previously went through will now be rejected. Node operators and liquidity providers who run their own infrastructure have been advised to verify their software is on version 3.3.0 or higher, and to schedule larger position changes outside the activation window.

Third cleanup in four months

The amendment is the third entry in a rolling cleanup sequence. fixCleanup3_1_3 activated on mainnet in May with fixes for NFTs, permissioned domains, vaults and the lending protocol. fixCleanup3_2_0 followed in July, patching Single Asset Vaults, the Lending Protocol, the permissioned DEX, Multi-Purpose Tokens and permissioned domains.

Read together, the series works as continuous maintenance on the ledger’s newest feature set. Each software release ships with a bundle of corrections, validators vote them through on their own schedule, and mainnet accumulates the patches piece by piece. The same validator set has carried all three amendments to supermajority without a contested vote, which developers point to as evidence the process is working as designed.

The amendment system itself differs from hard forks on other chains. Changes to transaction processing are offered to validators as votes, and nothing deploys centrally. A change that holds more than 80% support for the full two-week window applies permanently, and the ledger records both the vote count and the timing on-chain.

Who actually needs to act

For most XRP holders, the activation will pass unnoticed. Anyone whose coins sit on an exchange relies on the provider’s node, and the duty to update lies with the operator. The practical check is the exchange’s status page: if no maintenance window is listed for September 11, nothing is planned.

The group that does need to act is smaller: validators, full-history server operators, wallets that talk to self-hosted nodes, and AMM liquidity providers. The ledger’s server_info call shows the build_version and amendment_blocked fields, and version 3.3.0 or higher is the safe state. An outdated node risks dropping out of consensus once the amendment activates.

Context for the date

The upgrade lands two days before the scheduled September 15 vote on the CLARITY Act in the US Senate, which would set a clearer legal boundary between digital commodities and securities. XRP trades near $1.42, up modestly on the day, and daily payments on the ledger jumped 33.6% between September 1 and September 8 to 879,868, according to network data. Tokenized assets on XRPL have grown to roughly $3.7 billion this year, and the RLUSD stablecoin supply has expanded more than sixfold.

Developers have stressed that the amendment is a maintenance release, not a feature launch, and the two pending features it cleans up after, Single Asset Vault and the Lending Protocol, are not yet live on mainnet. The activation time is listed as approximately 11:15 UTC on September 11, though the exact ledger index depends on when the threshold was first reached.
