Russian drones struck warehouse facilities in the town of Brovary in Kyiv Oblast on Saturday morning, killing one person and injuring three, according to regional officials, in an attack that also damaged around a dozen vehicles and triggered a fire at an industrial site nearby.
The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, said on social media that enemy drones attacked warehouse premises in Brovary overnight into Saturday. “The enemy does not stop terrorizing the civilian population and striking civilian infrastructure in the Kyiv region,” he wrote. “This morning, enemy drones attacked warehouse facilities in Brovary. Unfortunately, one person died. Three more were injured.”
Ukrainian outlet Kyiv Post reported that the strike hit a logistics hub of Rozetka, Ukraine’s largest online marketplace retailer, part of the company’s warehousing network in the Brovary area north-east of the capital. The company operates one of the country’s biggest e-commerce fulfillment complexes in the region, which has repeatedly been in the path of Russian attacks targeting Kyiv’s outskirts.
Medics were providing assistance to the injured, Tkachenko said, while emergency services worked at the scene to extinguish fires and document the damage. The attack also damaged 12 cars parked at the facility, according to the regional administration.
The Brovary strike came in the same wave as a mass Russian missile and drone barrage on Kyiv early Saturday that killed at least nine people and wounded dozens, in one of the heaviest attacks on the capital in weeks. Ukrainian officials said the overnight barrage included ballistic missiles that overwhelmed air defenses, with Zelenskyy confirming that Ukraine intercepted only one of 27 ballistic missiles fired.
The targeting of warehouses and logistics infrastructure has become a recurring feature of the war. Moscow has struck Ukrainian distribution centers and civilian facilities throughout the invasion, while Ukraine has in turn carried out repeated drone attacks on Russian warehouses, including facilities of the Wildberries marketplace, saying they are used to support Russian military logistics.
Brovary, a town of roughly 100,000 people just outside Kyiv, has come under repeated attack during the war. Saturday’s strike underscored the threat Russian drones continue to pose to civilian infrastructure across the Kyiv region even as the front line remains far to the east.
